HyNEAT Symposium: Unlocking Future Hydrogen Supply Networks for H2-powered Aviation
On 16 December 2025, the HyNEAT final symposium took place at the Lower Saxony State Representation to the Federal Government in Berlin. The project results were presented at the symposium and discussed with representatives from industry, administration and research. In an interactive poster session, the detailed results from the various areas were discussed:
- Future LH2 demands at European airports
- H2 supply from the European energy system
- H2 supply networks
- Future flight networks
- Emissions from LH2 supply
- Future business models for LH2 supply
- Macroeconomic analysis of LH2 supply
- Technical analysis of LH2 components
A highlight of the event was the panel discussion with Daniel Reckzeh (Airbus Operations), Martin Hofmann (Stuttgart Airport), Daniel Riedel (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy) and Alexandre Tolentino (Lufthansa Group). The discussion focused on the delayed start of H2 aviation – in particular, whether this delay represents a risk to the ambitious goals of sustainable aviation or whether it could offer a strategic opportunity for the industry to create a more solid foundation.
